Robertson Bell are excited to be supporting a renowned government organisation to recruit an interim Finance Business Partner on an initial 6 month contract as they go through a transitionary period.

This role will offer full remote working, or hybrid working for candidates within commutable distance of Central London, and presents plenty of opportunity for extension.

Key Responsibilities of the interim Finance Business Partner will include:

• Developing an understanding of the business, its stakeholders and deliverables.
• Building and maintaining relationships with budget holders.
• Ensuring that the leaders can make decisions based on accurate financial information, by bringing business intelligence and operational knowledge to budget setting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Providing advice on compliance with policy, standards, accountabilities and controls.
• Reviewing and providing input to business cases and strategic documentation.
• Identifying and applying relevant costs, benefits and investment appraisal techniques.
• Ensure that the financial plans are developed through sufficient rigor and robustness to ensure it meets the necessary business case and government finance requirements.

The successful candidate will:

• Be a qualified accountant. Candidates who are part qualified but have significant relevant experience may also be considered.
• Possess strong technical budgeting and accounting skills.
• Have first class communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders.
• Ideally have experience working in the public sector.
• Be available at short notice.
