The position is working on site with a team of operational and site personnel. This is a stand-alone opportunity, running the HR function locally, therefore, the role will suit someone with a confident knowledge of HR generalist functions, which include recruitment, onboarding, performance management, reporting, responding to employee enquiries.
The person will receive support and will report to an international HR team. Therefore, experience working for a global/international firm is beneficial, but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full recruitment process, including advertising positions to offer making
• Onboard new personnel, including preparation of paperwork
• Maintain and build relationships with external stakeholders
• Act as a brand ambassador, educate talent on corporate benefits, business mission and employee value proposition
• Utilise multiple resources to recruit talent
• Support managers with HR queries and cases, such as performance management, probationary review, disciplinary incidents, complaint resolutions and case management
• Be the first point of contact for HR related enquiries to managers and employees

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in a HR generalist function
• Solid understanding of relevant policies, legislation and processes
• A can-do attitude and an adaptable, open-minded approach
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interpret legislation and policy to employees
• Experience within a construction, mining or related industry is beneficial, but not essential

The role is an initial 6-month contract based in the northern Gold Coast area, and can lead to a permanent opportunity for the right person.
