Robert Half Lexington is partnering with a Logistics / Shipping company located in Georgetown, KY to hire a Logistics Import / Export Clerk for their 2nd shift staff with hours of 4pm-12a Mon-Fri.

Job Summary :

The logistics import / export coordinator is responsible for managing the movement of goods, both incoming and outgoing, for a company or organization.

This role involves overseeing the logistics process from start to finish, ensuring the timely and efficient transportation of products while adhering to all relevant regulations and requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

Coordinate Import / Export Operations : Arrange and monitor the transportation of goods, including preparing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with customs regulations and international trade laws.

Manage Shipping and Receiving : Organize the shipment and receipt of goods, including overseeing loading and unloading activities, inspecting shipments for damages, and resolving any discrepancies or issues that may arise during the process.

Maintain Documentation : Prepare and maintain accurate records and documentation related to import and export activities, including invoices, shipping manifests, customs documentation, and other required paperwork.

Liaise with Suppliers and Customers : Communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, and transportation companies to ensure smooth and efficient logistics operations, addressing any concerns or inquiries promptly and professionally.

Monitor Inventory Levels : Track inventory levels and work closely with the warehouse or inventory management team to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained, minimizing the risk of stockouts or overstock situations.

Ensure Compliance : Stay updated on international trade regulations, customs procedures, and shipping laws to ensure full compliance with legal requirements, and make necessary adjustments to procedures to meet any changes in regulations.

Optimize Supply Chain Efficiency : Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the supply chain, proposing and implementing process enhancements or logistics strategies to streamline operations and reduce overall transportation costs.

Handle Freight Forwarding : Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and other transportation vendors to negotiate rates, track shipments, and ensure timely delivery of goods, resolving any issues related to transportation and logistics services.

Resolve Issues : Address any issues that arise during the import / export process, such as delays, damages, or customs-related problems, and work towards finding effective solutions to minimize disruptions to the supply chain.

Provide s : Generate regular s on import / export activities, logistics performance, and inventory levels, providing insights and recommendations for improvement to the management team.

Requirements

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field, preferred but not required

Previous experience in import / export operations or logistics coordination is preferred.

Strong understanding of international trade regulations and customs procedures.

Proficiency in using logistics software and tools for tracking shipments and managing inventory.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and transportation partners.

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving logistics-related issues efficiently.
