Robert Half Hiring for Graduate Accountant / Assistant Accountant Job at Melbourne Full Time

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Director you will be responsible for assisting with a wide range of accounting processes. Quite rare for a junior accountant, this role will be extremely broad. You will gain exposure you to transactional accounting, financial accounting & management accounting duties. While there will be a month end element, you will gain valuable exposure around budgeting, forecasting, analysis. The role will see you work with two, very strong CA qualified mentors. The Finance Director has an impressive background working in Audit & large ASX listed businesses and is looking for an ambitious individual to guide through the formative part of their career.

Some typical duties will involve learning & supporting the following:

• Accounts receivable
• Accounts payable
• Preparations of journals
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintain accruals and prepayments
• Budgeting and strategic planning
• Support monthly financial analysis for business units
• Tax & compliance

Your Profile

To be successful you will be looking for the next step in your accounting career. The client is open to a diverse rang of backgrounds, but you will ideally be a recent accounting graduate and looking to pursue your CA or CPA. The client is open to recent graduates who may have gained predominantly Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable experience but want to branch out into a more diverse role. The client is also open to graduates with no accounting experience looking for their first step into industry.
