The Company

Our client is a large, well-known Healthcare Institution that with several facilities across Victoria. Due to an extended temporary leave of the incumbent Financial Accounting Manager, the organisation is currently recruiting an interim position for approximately 4 to 6 months. This is a genuine opportunity that would allow you to take the next step in your career.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, responsibilities will include managing the financial accounting team, leading the month end process and ensuring that the highest standards of financial control and compliance are maintained.

• Oversight of the month-end process whilst leading a team of 3
• Review of Balance Sheet Reconciliations and managing the process of investigating discrepancies
• Responsible for internal monthly financial reports
• Performing analysis on debtors and creditors
• Adhering to, maintaining and updating financial accounting policies.
• Providing financial accounting advice to Business Unites and collaborate with the Business Partners/Management Accountants
• Dealing with auditors and banks and the ATO
• Investment Accounting
• Provide business partnering support to programs
• Process Improvement initiatives

This role will be an interim assignment between 4-6 months with start date early January.

Your Profile

• A Business or Commerce degree
• CA or CPA Qualified
• A minimum of 3-5 year’s post qualification
• Previous experience as a Senior Financial Accountant or Finance Manager
• Good people and team management skills
• A willingness to be in the office 2-3 times a week
• Ability to analyse and interpret data
• Ability to apply solid accounting principles
