The Company

The organisation is an iconic FMCG business, and you can likely find their products in the pantry of any Australian home. The business has seen steady growth over the last few years, driven both organically and through some strategic acquisitions. It boasts a close, tight knit finance team that is invested in the success of this newly created role. You will report to an impressive Finance Manager who is big 4 trained and spent the majority of their career working in ASX listed environments.

The Role

This role has been offered due to increased workload within the finance team. Working closely with the Finance Manager you will initially focus on Fixed Assets & Lease Accounting. The business holds close to $100M in leased assets that you will hold responsibility for. As we draw closer to financial year-end you may also pitch in to help with some of the reporting requirements, as needed. The role is initially temporary to give the business time to run a full recruitment process. The temporary candidate will be invited to apply and considered pending performance. The offices are centrally located in the CBD and will be operating a hybrid office / WFH model.

You will be responsible for:

• Fixed Assets
• Lease Accounting – IFRS 16
• Month end
• Annual statutory accounts
• Financial statements
• Tax consolidation
• FBT
• Assist with treasury
• Reconciliations

Your Profile

This role is ideally suited to someone that is looking to expand upon their growing knowledge within a fast-paced business. Ideally you will be CA or CPA qualified, however open to part qualified. The business is open to a variety of profiles for this role. While a seasoned Fixed Assets & Lease Accounting specialist would be welcomed, they are also open to alternate profiles. An all-round Accountant who has had a little exposure would suffice, or even an ex-Audit profile who understands the concepts. The successful candidate must be able to start quickly and is comfortable working in a hybrid office/WFH role.
