RMS – Resource Management Solutions are currently recruiting a Design Engineer on a permanent basis behalf of our client, in Darlington

This is a permanent position, this is an exciting opportunity to join a company who are at the forefront of their industry

Role Overview: Responsible for the structural design on projects (F&B / Modular Solutions). Preparing design reports and providing technical advice when required.

Day to Day duties will include, but are not limited to:

• To produce economical design solutions to meet project requirements and maintain records in accordance with QA procedures.
• To ensure that design for live contracts is performed as required.
• To provide technical support to tendering activities including input to bid preparation and potential clarifications with the client.
• To provide technical support to R&D projects as required.
• Undertake FE modelling using software such as STAAD Pro and other analysis packages as required.
• Undertake design and analysis calculations relating to the structural and thermal performance of external cladding systems or modular buildings.
• Carry out a comprehensive review of client technical specifications and ensure all design outputs are in accordance.
• To author and or undertake checking of structural design reports.
• Participate in design review/ value engineering activities to ensure design outputs are cost effective in relation to material usage and manufacturing processes.
• To represent the company in a professional manner at both internal and external meetings

To be considered this position you must:

• BEng (Hons) Degree (Structural, Civil or Mechanical Engineering) / higher degree level education
• Preferred – Membership of relevant professional institution/s
• Working knowledge of industry and international design codes.
• Competent with applicable structural analysis software (STAAD)
