Riverside Natural Foods Ltd. Hiring for ACCTS PAYABLE at Toronto, ON Full Time

Position Summary/Objective:
As the Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for performing all duties related to treasury and accounts payable, preparing journal entries, cheque runs, assisting in financial reporting, and supporting the Finance Team in other areas including prepaids, inventory and fixed assets.

The Accounts Payable Clerk plays a critical role in supporting the Finance department to ensure that all accounting processes and documentation are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Primary Responsibilities:
Demonstrate and uphold Riverside’s core values

Administration of the company’s automated payables management systems (SAP Concur)

Process purchase invoices for approval

Ensure adherence to the company’s cash management policies

Enter purchase invoices to the accounting system

Reconcile payments to invoices and to the accounts payable schedule

Prepare weekly cheque runs, including EFT, wires and ACH

Reconcile bank accounts and VISA statements, follow up on errors or inconsistencies

Reconcile accounts payable and ensure payment terms are followed

Compute adjustments to invoices, such as credit notes, volume rebates and purchase discounts

Manage credit applications and new vendor administration

Support other areas of the finance department including: the accounts receivable, prepaids, inventory and fixed assets processes

Data entry of financial transactions into SAP

Maintain supplier files

Maintain Fixed assets sub ledger

Support in the preparation of month-end and year-end working papers

Keeps the work atmosphere FUN by keeping it light and welcoming

Other duties as assigned

Reporting Relationships

The Accounts Payable Clerk reports to the Director of Finance.

No positions report to the AP Clerk

Education & Qualifications

Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business or a related field

Related work experience in a food manufacturing environment

Strong understanding of business processes

Deep understanding of the SAP Finance module

Experience with CPG operations

Experience working in a multi-currency environment (CAD, USD, EUR and GBP)

Experience administering payables across a multi-company organization (4 entities in 3 countries)

Familiarity with online banking portal

Experience administering credit card reconciliation through online platforms (i.e. Amex, Visa)
