River Valley Holdings, located in Syracuse, NY, is currently searching for a Software Engineer join our internal development team.

The role to be filled would be responsible for new development along with support/enhancement of existing solutions built on a VB.Net / SQL Server multi-tier framework, with a distinct opportunity for creativity and the opportunity to deliver impactful improvements and enhancements for the organization. Responsibilities

• Build Multi-Tier applications with MS Visual Studio utilizing the VB.Net programming language and Infragistics user interface controls
• Develop SQL procedures, triggers and views (Microsoft SQL Server)
• Build user reports using SQL Server Reporting Services
• Analyze, troubleshoot and remediate data-related issues
• Support existing systems – proactively manage and maintain multiple systems to ensure performance and availability
• Work independently on assignments where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making choices, recommendations or decisions
• Work directly with users to document requirements for new functionality as well as support existing systems

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills with a DevOps mindset
• 3+ years of experience with Visual Studio and C#
• 5+ years of experience in VB.Net (will consider experience in other languages) with emphasis on user interface design and heavy database integration
• Advanced T-SQL Scripting
• Prior experience developing scalable enterprise software solutions
• Proven analytical problem solving and debugging skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
• Detail oriented with a high level of commitment to customer satisfaction
• Team player with an emphasis on both knowledge sharing and learning

Additional Beneficial Skills/Experience

• Familiarity with Inventory, Pricing and Order Entry / Fulfillment processes, preferably within the distribution vertical
• Experience with warehouse management software platforms (Accellos, Highjump, etc)
• Experience with EDI platforms and integrations
