River Cottage Hiring for Finance Assistant Job at Axminster, England Full Time

We are looking to appoint an experienced Finance Assistant who will assist in the day to day finance tasks in the Business Finance team.

Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will be responsible for the following.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase invoices and credit notes using Paperless accounting software

• Process staff expenses and mileage claims

• Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records

• Ensure accurate accounting for VAT

• Liaise with the SMT to obtain approval for purchase invoices

• Set up regular supplier payment runs ready for authorisation

• Update and maintain the purchase ledger

• Respond to queries, both internally and externally

• Assist with the sales ledger function where required

• Assist in ad hoc projects, tasks and reports as and when required

In order to be considered, you must have the following:

• Previous experience in similar role

• Excellent organisational and communication skills

• Demonstrate accurate data entry skills with good attention to detail

• Excellent Excel and general IT skills

• Strong working knowledge of Sage

• Experience working within a fast paced finance function and able to meet strict deadlines and ability to manage own workload

• The ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a small team

Contract length: 3 months

Part-time hours: 1-15 per week

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Salary: £10.00-£15.00 per hour
