About the role

We are looking for a Business Improvement Specialist to play a key role in enabling and driving process initiatives that deliver additional sustained value in accordance with company safety, environmental and statutory requirements.

This role is a great opportunity for an experienced Business Improvement professional to support and lead Business Process improvement projects to ensure sustainable value is created within the operation. Coach and support operational leaders in the implementation and embedding of business improvement initiatives.

Reporting to the Principal Advisor FBP, you will:

• Establish the internal communications flow within the Rio Tinto Company for the intercompany recharging process and related areas
• Engage and communicate with SMEs’, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders for change management necessities
• Collate existing information and produce / write content for internal company website
• Ensure BI changes made to existing processes are fully documented (including process mapping via Adonis)
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to obtain necessary information
• Prepare information for management reporting to Project SteerCo/B&TS Finance Leadership

What you’ll bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

• A Business or Finance related degree
• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
• Solid history with relevant industrial experience
• Strong commercial skills (business analysis, management accounting or similar)
• An ability to lead through influence, ensure initiatives are delivered on-time and coach management
• Strong problem solving skills together with a high emotional quotient and strong interpersonal skills
• The ability to work autonomously

It will also be beneficial if you have:

• A CPA or similar accreditation
• An engineering or commercial background attained within a manufacturing or heavy industry environment
