We are seeking a driven and motivated Production Accounting Analyst join Rio Tinto’s Iron Ore Business unit.

Reporting to the Planning and Productivity Manager in the Iron Ore Finance team you will provide a vital link in the analysis of data between the operational results, production, and financial areas of Rio Tinto’s Iron ore business

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Communicating across multiple Rio Tinto Iron Ore sites to obtain, validate and report up to date production data
• Accurate inventory tracking for financial reporting
• Ownership and maintenance of production data and BI tools
• Support the consolidation of financial and production data to produce accurate forecasting
• High-level problem-solving and analysis skills to Identify, analyse and resolve data and reporting discrepancies
• Month end and downstream reporting including validation reports, budgets, and forecasts
• Proactively manage relationships with key site personnel, this will require ad-hoc site visits

What you’ll bring

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance or another relevant field
• CPA or CA qualifications are preferable but not a must
• Strong commercial knowledge with an understanding and keen interest in finance
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge and experience in SAP as well as high proficiency in the MS Office Suite with advanced Excel skills
• Experience in using Power BI to build and maintain reports is preferable
• Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work to tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment
• Strong interpersonal communication and organisational skills
• Ability to influence multiple teams and stakeholders across the business
• A passion for continuous improvement and personal development and a continuous improvement mindset
