RICS Hiring for Head of HR Operations at Birmingham Full Time

This role is part of the HR Senior Leadership Team. Its purpose is to lead the HR Operations team, currently comprising 17 roles across HR Operations and Talent Acquisition and deliver a first-class operational service to the organisation (in UK, EMEA, Americas and APAC) and wider People team.

• Define, align and deliver the HR Operational and Talent Acquisition functions’ strategy, in line with the overall HR strategy for the organisation
• Direct line management of HR Operations Team Leader, HR Operations senior specialist, HR Policy and Process specialist, HRIS Senior specialist and Talent Acquisition Manager.
• Provide first class HR services to the organisation ensuring internal SLAs are met
• Drive continued employee lifecycle, processes and procedures improvements ensuring all operational procedures are documented and follow project management methodology
• Deliver the organisation’s annual events, including but not limited to, performance management cycle and salary review, objective setting and mandatory training
• Drive continued evolution of HRIS as part of the wider digital first strategy, enabling further manager and employee self-service, and maximising the potential of our HRIS for all annual event cycles, recruitment and operational processing
• Responsible for production and continual evolution of people data monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual reporting to provide people insights to the Executive team and the organisation
• Responsible for managing and delivering all HR quality assurance, audits and compliance
• Responsible for tiered employee relations case management, ensuring quality of case management through to fair and successful resolution
• Accountable for monthly payroll processing accuracy ensuring internal SLAs are met
• Oversee delivery of projects – such as HR to payroll data automation project
• Manage relationships with various external suppliers, including contract renewal negotiations, drawing on expertise from other departments as necessary
• Manage the budget for HR Operations and Talent Acquisition
• Accountable for all global HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and best practice is adhered to at all times
• Deliver the organisations Engagement Survey, including HR and manager training
• Develop, motivate and engage the team in a culture of open, two-way feedback thereby ensuring team and individual objectives are delivered

• Process reduction, simplification and an increasing quality and speed of service to the business
• Reduction in time taken to resolve HR queries and process HR requests – measured by customer service feedback
• Timely and accurate monthly submissions to Payroll
• Company policies and processes managed and reviewed as appropriate
• Data provision is accurate and provided within agreed SLAs
• Improvement in employee engagement scores, in line with People Team objectives
• Successful evolution of HRIS
• Objectives and development plans in place for all team members, which are actioned and reviewed during regular 121s

Experience Required • Demonstrable passion and expertise in leading successful HR teams in an international or complex organisation, with strong track record of stakeholder management, performance management and budget control underpinned by an inclusive leadership style,

• Demonstrable experience of implementing process improvements – ideally some experience of Lean and/or Agile methodologies
• Proven Project Management experience and successful project delivery
• Knowledge of tools and techniques needed to develop and maintain a high-performance culture and efficient operational delivery
• Strongly data rational, experience of data management improvement activities including governance, audit, mapping and transfer would be an advantage.
• Good working knowledge of HR Information Systems – experience of Sage People, Peakon and LinkedIn would be advantageous
• Experience of payroll management
• Background, perhaps as an HR Generalist, with knowledge of current employment law (CIPD qualified to L7 as a minimum) both in the UK and, ideally, other jurisdictions
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders
