Full Job Description
The purpose of the class is to plan, coordinate and supervise the operations of the Education and Information Division, including public information, public education and staff training activities, and information systems management; to provide leadership in and respond to public calls for emergency assistance; to provide administrative, material, operational and technical support for assigned department programs, and to perform related professional, administrative and supervisory work as required. This class plans, organizes and implements programs within major organizational policies, reporting program progress to executive-level administration through reports and conferences. Requires Bachelor’s degree or education and training equivalent to four years of college education in public relations, communications, public administration or a closely related field. Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
Must have previous experience in Emergency Management, Paramedic and Fire Marshal activities; may be required to obtain other certifications as deemed appropriate by supervisor. Requires ten years of experience.
