Responsibilities:

• Maintain, review, and follow up on Quality Program for Donor Services Department. Remain current in knowledge of guidelines and developments within regulatory agencies (e.g. A.A.B.B., FDA).
• Participate in regulatory/accrediting agency inspection, preparation for and performance of internal process, and coordinate internal department audits.
• Perform follow up on corrective action plans associated with process improvement, including applicable effectiveness checks to ensure appropriate resolution.
• Develop and revise departmental SOPs, ensure appropriate recordkeeping and record retention, and assist with the oversight and management of quality metrics and key performance indicators.
• Aide Manager in the facilitation and administration of the Donor Services Error Management Program.
• Supervise Quality Assurance Coordinators in daily workload to include: maintaining QC, tests, recordkeeping, QA review of donor records, quarantine procedures for blood units, donor communication and data entry.
• Assist Manager with the planning, coordination and implementation of new technologies and technology upgrades, including revised policy and procedures in the areas of Quality Assurance & Control, Education, Donor Records and compliance with regulatory entities.
• Develop education modules, evaluate quality assurance reporting opportunities and improvements, and specialized training development.
• Ensure maintenance of organized employee training records to include certifications, competencies, safety training, in-service education training, attendance, etc.
• Participate in planning and projects with Donor Services leadership team.

• Adjust own hours to meet staff and donor needs. Travel as needed.
• Assist Management with various projects/studies related to donor processing, donor management, and equipment. Serve on committees relating to education, inter-departmental projects, etc. Attend staff meetings and in-service sessions as needed.
• Complete all other assignments as required.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required. Significant relevant quality assurance and compliance knowledge equivalent to a college or university education may be acceptable.

Minimum 3 to 5 years of blood banking or relevant QA/Compliance experience in a regulated environment required, preferably with a healthcare background. Quality auditing experience preferred. This position requires strong organization, communication (verbal and written), and presentation skills. Must be able to effectively manage multiple assignments while adhering to strict deadlines.

Experience in directing large projects from inception to completion with a keen attention to detail collecting information and cooperation from inter and intra departmental sources. Previous project management required. Superior understanding and dexterity with Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn and implement new analytical software is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year

Schedule:
