Front Desk Support

A Self-Storage business in Medicine Hat, Alberta is looking for a person with great ‘people skills’ to staff the front desk and perform light building and grounds maintenance.

This is a permanent, part-time position. We are open Monday to Saturday. You will typically work Friday and Saturday, 8am to 4pm, plus the occasional extra day to relieve other staff. Some flexibility in your work days may be available, if needed, from time to time.

Your rate of pay will be $17.00 per hour.

We are looking for a special kind of person who can work well with a diverse range of personalities. You must have a passion for good customer service and for treating our customers with respect and professionalism, tact, diplomacy and sensitivity.

As front desk staff, you will be personally dealing with our customers, including:

• Answer tenant calls and email inquires
• Process tenant move-ins and move-outs
• Use the business’s computer software program to manage rental units
• Clean, sweep and wash floors of storage units before and after renting
• Process rental payments
• Collect overdue accounts and follow-up with customers
• Monitor security cameras and gate access
• Inspect rented units to confirm condition and occupancy
• When applicable, cut locks and prepare unit contents for auction
• Shovel snow, pick up trash & tumbleweeds from yard
• Keep stock of inventory, cut cardboard and bubble wrap to size
• Perform general office duties, including routine office cleaning

You must also be strong and fit, able to lift at least 40 pounds (18.2 kg).
