WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

About the Team

This position will be a key member of the Electronics Solutions team located in Edinburgh, SA. The team provides Software Engineering for the design and build systems that can manage large quantities of imagery, and apply deep learning through convolutional neural networks and other ML models to augment imagery analysis.

About the Role

The Software Engineer & Program Coordinator will engage directly with our clients to understand the requirements and deliverables in an R&D environment.

Reporting to the Technical Lead the primary focus of this role is to coordinate the Technical Leads through the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and contribute software engineering expertise as part of the team responsible for utilising and developing software, which assists in the automation of computer vision tasks, supporting the Analyst workflow.

As the Software Engineer & Program Coordinator your key responsibilities will include

• Undertake software system design and development activities and software unit integration testing.
• Act as the co-ordinator between the customer and technical teams to ensure deliverable outcomes (milestones) are met.
• Work with the Technical Team leads to provide scheduling for programs of work across program lines.
• Support and Coordinate (With the Technical Team Leads) the Management of the SDLC.
• Provide schedule advice in support of proposal generation.
• Maintain strict confidentiality.
• Comply with RDA policies and improvements.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in software development
• Experience working with clients to determine project milestones.
• Experience in software environments such as C, C++, Python
• Experience in Cloud and cloud infrastructure
• Experience with the SDLC
• Experience working within an agile software development environment with Scrum training highly regarded
• NV1 Clearance

The experience and skillset desirable to this role includes:

• Experience using a Linux based development environment
• Experience with configuration management and defect tracking tools
• Experience in imagery analysis
• Experience with machine learning
• Working knowledge of DevSecOps
