WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

About the Team

As key member of the program leadership team, the Program Finance Director is responsible for leading all financial activities relating to the company. You will also be responsible for ensuring that finance related activities across local and international teams are coordinated and integrated to meet the needs of the customer and key stakeholders of the program.

The role will report to the Senior Controlling Manager, Finance and will be based in Redbank at our Military Vehicle Centre of Exellence (MILVEHCOE).

About the role

• Lead the local and international finance teams supporting the program;
• Ensure that the project financial outputs meet the expectations of the customer and, internal and external stakeholders;
• Coordinate communication and support between other local and international finance functions including treasury, tax, accounting and controlling for all matters relating to the program;
• Oversee the setup of structures and systems to manage program budgets, forecasts and actual costs and ensure that costs are recorded accurately;
• Lead the financial review and approval process for internal scope changes and budget transfers;
• Lead the Estimate at Completion (EAC) activity for the program and ensure that EACs are conducted regularly and to a high degree of accuracy;
• Ensure that the booking rate for the program for earnings and revenue recognition correctly reflect the financial position of the program;
• Lead pricing for Contract Change Proposals (CCPs) and Survey and Quotes (S&Qs) for the program and ensure they are provided in a timely manner and, accruately costed and priced in line with the contract and business requirements;
• Ensure audits conducted by FIS and other Commonwealth agencies are planned, supported and responded to in a timely and accurate manner;
• Act at the key contact for customer commercial and financial correspondence and negotiations; and
• Oversee all financial matters related to program suppliers and partners, internal and external.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

• Experience in managing financials for major projects;
• Tertiary qualifications in Finance/ Accounting/ Commerce or related disciplines;
• CA/CPA or equivalent qualified;
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling;
• Experience in project cost planning, scheduling and development of financial reports and analysis;
• Sound knowledge of costing/management accounting practices; and
• Demonstrated experience of successfully business partnering with multiple non-finance functions.

Desirable:

• Experience leading a large finance team for a complex international project;
• Defence industry experience;
• Experience in the concepts of Earned Value Management;
• Experience in SAP S/4 Hana and FI/CO and PS modules
