Site Engineer

Civil Engineering Main Contractor

A Site Engineer is currently required to join a Main Contractor based in Basingstoke to join a live project.

As an organisation they currently work on a number of schemes spanning across Groundwork’s, Highways and environmental projects for a variety of public and private clients. 

As an organisation they currently work on a number of projects spanning across Highways, Rail, Tunnelling and Civils across the UK

Notable projects include HS2, Thames Tideway, Hinkley Point C and a number of station upgrades for Crossrail.

Key Duties:

• The main focus of the role is to Support the Section Engineer and provide engineering and quality control for the construction works including maintaining appropriate records.

• Your role will also require you to ensure the project site remains compliant with requirements in all aspects of the projects.

• Liaise directly with working Site Managers, Project Managers.

• Mentor younger and less experienced Apprentice Engineers.

• Setting out with surveying equipment (GPS & Robotic Total Stations)

• Assist with quality control to ensure the standards are met=with the design specifications

• Assist in producing permits to break ground (CAT Scanning management)

• Ensuring the highest health, safety and environmental standards are met on site

• Liaise with the site team to approve materials ensuring they meet specification

• Keep accurate records of progress reports, site diaries and resource allocations

• Produce as-built drawings in AutoCAD

  Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Degree Qualification in Civil Engineering

• Experience working in the bridge replacement field

• Good knowledge of construction industry and standards construction techniques

• Basic knowledge of commercial and contractual requirements.

• Working knowledge of subcontractor scopes of work.
