An Integrated transport planning consultancy are on the lookout for an ambitious Principle Highways Engineer to join their engineering team in London. This consultancy work on some of the most exciting and challenging development planning and infrastructure projects in London, Europe and across the world, from large commercial skyscrapers to sport stadiums and major event projects.

They are leading the debate on smart servicing and autonomous vehicles, and are redesigning roads and streets that look to the future of transport. Their ability to design and create public spaces, roads and streets, parks and plazas for people and communities sets them out as one of the UK’s most highly regarded transport engineering consultancies. The clients you will be working with include major developers, architects, contractors and local authorities.

You will be joining a company of 60 across the business and 16 engineers in their office in London!

Role:

Your role will include leading others in the engineering design, technical analysis, research, forecasting, modelling and calculations, and reporting as required to support clients in delivering highways, streets and transport infrastructure schemes.

You will manage a wide range of projects with autonomy, and be the primary point of contact with clients.

With support from your directors, you will take a leading role in their engineering team with respect to team resourcing, ensuring compliance with company policies, team development and growth. You will have responsibility for the development of their business capabilities, both technical and non-technical, in areas such as BIM, QMS, EMS and health and safety.

Requirements

–          Have a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent.

–          Will be a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (with the ICE/CIHT/similar).

–          Ability to develop transport and highway infrastructure schemes from concept through to detailed design.

–          Ability to design all aspects of S278 schemes, urban street and highway schemes.

–          Ability to work independently and oversee, check and approve the work of others.

–          Ability to successfully manage and build effective client relationships.

–          Oversee and review designs in Civils3D and AutoCAD.
