Overview

We are looking for an experienced, energetic and experienced quality control specialist to join the RFP DESIGN GROUP Team. Reporting to the director of process management, the QC is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day quality operations including the monitoring of quality of work in process and finished goods. They will be responsible for inspecting raw materials, packaging, and inventory as part of their day-to-day responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will foster and develop a work environment within a plant that promotes trust, teamwork, performance, quality and safety.

Statement of Work & Responsibilities:

• Ensure Operations team is following established SOP’s for production flow, documentation, receiving, packaging, etc.
• Oversee manufacturing process to ensure quality policies and procedures are adhered to
• Determine, recommend and ensure compliance with necessary departmental procedures in conjunction with the Quality Assurance Manager
• Audit and maintain records necessary for quality control
• Assist with the approval/release/rejection of all raw materials, finished goods and in-process materials
• Responsible for departmental non-conformances and implementation of corrective action ensuring all corrective actions are documented and outstanding actions closed in a timely manner
• Champion the Quality & Safety Risk Assessment program, including hazard identification and implementation of controls to protect the safety and well-being of all employees, safety of company product and environment
• Manage Retention Samples and lead the investigation into customer complaints and issues related to quality
• Collect samples and perform Micro analysis according to technical SOPs
• Analyze data to identify trends in product quality and safety concerns, apply appropriate corrective and preventative actions including timely escalation to senior management
• Able to conduct Mock Recall exercises, traceability
• Confirm all material and packaging receipts to meet or exceed specifications and communicate any deviations in a timely manner
• Performs other QA/QC duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Quality within a manufacturing environment, preferably furniture industry
• Any equivalent Degree or Diploma
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Problem solver who is results-oriented, adaptable, and organized
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Knowledge about Lean manufacturing, QMS, GDP and GMP
