Rex (Regional Express) Hiring for Assistant Accountant Job at Sydney Full Time

Rex is Australia’s largest independent regional and domestic airline operating a fleet of 60 Saab 340 and 6 Boeing 737-800NG aircraft to 63 destinations throughout all states in Australia. In addition to the airline Rex, the Rex Group comprises wholly owned subsidiaries Pel-Air Aviation (air freight, aeromedical and charter operator) and the two pilot academies, Australian Airline Pilot Academy in Wagga Wagga and Ballarat.

Expressions of interest are sought from qualified and motivated individuals to undertake the role of Assistant Accountant based in Mascot. The position is part-time, with the opportunity to convert to full-time.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate must be a hardworking and experienced Accountant, with the ability to take control of a General Ledger, preparation of financial statements, dealing with auditors and work as part of a larger team.

Key Selection Criteria:

Relevant tertiary degree in Finance or Accounting

• Experience in commercial accounting
• Familiar with General Ledger and Asset Register Management
• Knowledge of GST and ATO reporting requirements
• Ability to work accurately with high volume of data and meet tight deadlines
• High computer literacy with Microsoft suite particularly Excel
• Sound knowledge of ACCPAC accounting system desirable, but not essential
• Effective communication skills
