**OPERATIONS MANAGER**

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

ing to the General Manager of the facility, Responsible for directing and coordinating activities on the production team, ensuring conformance to schedule, labor distribution, productivity, and part quality focusing on producing ZERO Defects. This role leads and coaches three Production Shift Supervisors and an hourly staff of 45-60 including team leads and machine operators.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drives manufacturing operating policy supported by lean concepts, to realize business strategy and to support JIT volume fluctuations.

• Drives best practices and has accountability for all aspects of plant production performance, ensuring volume objectives areattained in a cost-effective, reduced waste manner that is consistent with customer quality and safety requirements, and ensuring policies and procedures are followed.

• Improve effective part throughput, achieving steady improvement and ZERO Defects.

• Responsible for coordinating all preventive maintenance activities within the cells.

• Increase productivity, steadily improving earned hours/actual hours paid.

• Achieve a maximum total cost of waste of 2%.

• Achieve 85% conformance to schedule in support of 100% on-time delivery.

• Meet all production schedules.

• Identify and resolve safety issues.

• Supervisory Responsibilities – Guides, coaches and supports team members and teams to perform their roles successfully. Also includes, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems to support HR Vision and Mission.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering preferred

• 5-15 years of experience in production or operations management for manufacturing industry

• Experience in highly engineered, plastic injection molding industry, preferred

• Knowledge and experience with capacity Planning, Material and Information Flow Systems, Quality Systems/Process for the entire Value Stream

• Plant leadership experience and a positive motivator skills are essential

You should be proficient in:

• Lean Manufacturing Principles
• Scheduling Experience
• High-level Operations Analysis

Salary info:

$53 – $57.70 / hr
