Retro Biosciences Hiring for Senior Accountant Job at Redwood City, CA Full Time

The mission of Retro Biosciences is to extend healthy human lifespan by one decade.

Retro Biosciences is a fast-growing biopharma startup using high-throughput, high-dimensional approaches to develop therapies for diseases driven by the biology of aging. We are looking to expand our exceptional team at our Redwood City location.

We are looking for a qualified, highly organized, and self-motivated Senior Accountant who aligns with our mission, craves a challenge, feels energized to roll up their sleeves, and who feels comfortable owning Retro finances. You will keep our company numbers and budgets on track with unwavering accuracy and will need to apply your discretion, and good judgment as you work across various teams and competing priorities. Retro will provide access to high-level finance consultants to help you expand your capabilities. Because we are a growing startup, you will be expected to grow out of this role over time and train others in your job responsibilities. You will report to the VP of Operations and will work frequently with the CEO.

Primary responsibilities:

• Create and review expense reports in Expensify

• Manage the vendor setup, major purchasing, and A/P processes

• Prepare G/L account reconciliations and journal entries

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations

• Prepare quarterly Financial Statements

• Ensure timely execution and filing of appropriate tax documents (with the exception of the Corporate Income Tax for which you will work with our outside firm)

• Assist in managing payroll

• Facilitate annual budgeting and forecasting with the executive team

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field

• At least 3-5 years of related Accounting experience

• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to independently and efficiently solve problems

• Quickbooks Online experience preferred

• Proficiency with Google Workspace, Asana, and Slack preferred

• Familiarity of GAAP a strong plus

Pay: $90,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
