Finance Assistant – £21,263 – £23,389 per annum pro rata (Salaries vary depending on experiences)
Hours – 25 hours per week over 4 or 5 days. 1-year fixed term contract.

What You’ll Be Doing:
The Finance team focuses on all financial management and information systems in a £15 million plus turnover organisation.**
Overall job responsibility:

• Ensure invoices are raised in an accurate and timely manner, collect payments and input into the finance and housing systems.
• Ensure arrears are collected and dealt with in an efficient and sensitive manner.
• Maintain sales ledger database and deal with billing enquiries.
• Provide cover for other members of the Financial Accounting team during times of absence and to assist with meeting company deadlines.

The duties within any role vary from day to day. Some of the core duties within the role will include: **

• Raise monthly and ad-hoc sales invoices and send to customers
• Monitor and run auto invoicing from finance system
• Monitor debtors, recover outstanding invoice payments and arrears
• Maintain and update sales ledger database
• Receive/bank cash and cheques for service charges and any ad-hoc payments from customers and local authorities, providing receipts for payments.
• Download housing benefit schedules from all local authorities, import to housing system and post to finance system
• Manage, check and balance petty cash and project floats

The Successful Applicant:

• Attained a good standard of GCSEs,
• Have up to date knowledge of financial accounting systems, in particular sales ledger.
• Have a minimum of one year’s experience working within a purchase ledger team.
• Knowledge of our finance system, Exchequer and being a part qualified accountant or working towards your accountancy qualification is desirable, but not essential.
