ResMed is looking for a leader responsible for growing and developing an incredible team of talented and motivated engineers. This position reports to our Director, Product Security & Architecture, and will work closely with engineering leadership to continue to develop our Digital Platform Engineering (DPE) teams as a coordinated function within the Digital Health Technologies (DHT) group. The DPE team drives operational excellence by enabling partner teams in Software Engineering, Advanced Analytics, and Platform Operations to up-level the health of their services in production, achieve desired reliability outcomes, and empowering them to self-serve in key areas of building, operating, and maintaining production services.
We’re looking for a technical and industry-experienced Engineering Manager to join our newly formed Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) team. Ideally, you have prior experience in defining the strategy and vision of managing customer identity and treating it as a product within the organization. You also have solid Software Engineering experience and have managed teams in an agile environment. At ResMed we focus on capability and passion. Mentor, grow, and empower your team by giving them the skills, confidence and motivation to make decisions independently that lead to their personal and professional success, and enable them to become technical leaders.
Manage and develop your team’s processes/practices in, but not limited to, Customer Identity, Software Development Life Cycle, Incident Management, Change Management, and Production Management.
Develop internal processes, documentation and training to ensure that team members have the needed skills and tools to support the production environments and deliver on project commitments.
Participate in deep technical design discussions with your team, and across partner teams, and ensure that we are building the right systems and keeping the quality high within a given set of parameters.
Provide technical leadership to the team by performing code reviews, pair programming, and design reviews.
Take an active role in driving and evolving the roadmap for customer identity and access management across the entire ecosystem.
Represent the team in front of leadership and align their goals and objectives with those of the company.
Manage vendor relations to achieve ResMed’s expectations with regards to performance, reliability, and support.
Let’s talk about qualifications and experience
Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience.
5+ year’s management and people leadership experience in Software Engineering with focus on customer identity and access management (Okta experience is a great asset).
Experience with:
Secure, best coding practices.
Authorization and Authentication.
Identity-related workflows such as SSO, federation, secrets management, etc.
Cloud services/IaaS engineering experience (preferably AWS cloud).
Experience with sensitive data environments (PCI, HIPAA, etc.).
Experience leading a high performing team of technical resources to achieve consistent and measurable results.
Strong organizational, cross-functional, relationship, and business planning skills.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Vendor management experience.
Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects.
Flexibility in scheduling with a willingness to support a remote team.
Enthusiastic, high-energy individual, self-motivated, people-oriented and self-directed.
Demonstrable track record dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in a fast paced environment.
