Job Description

Renkim Corporation, an Information Services Company, founded in 1982 and located in Southgate Michigan, is seeking a full time Programmer Analyst.

Position Background:
Working in a fast-paced team environment, successful candidates should be goal oriented and organized. Candidates should have an enthusiastic attitude, a strong work ethic and solid listening, oral and written communication skills. The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded programmer on an IBM AS400/iSeries, with solid skills in RPG III/IV/ILE/FREE, CLP and SQL. Experience with Forms Development is a plus.

Daily Duties:

• Troubleshooting and debugging existing code.
• Implementing newly created code and fixes into existing software.
• Testing and fixing code to ensure quality.
• Diligence in checking their own work and output.
• Creating programming documentation.
• Keeping other team members informed of all enhancements, troubleshooting, and fixes.
• May be asked to assist in mentoring, training, and providing support to less experienced co-workers.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Able to resolve complex issues and diverse projects.
• Exercises good judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining solutions.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Able to write and review RPG and CLP code.
• Able to juggle multiple projects and shifting priorities.
• Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers.
• Communicate and coordinate work efforts with others, in order to work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor’s/Associates Degree and 5+ years’ experience coding with RPG and CLP on an IBM AS400/iSeries.
• Forms Development Experience is a definite plus.
• Web Development Experience is also a plus.

Benefits:
One-year contract with the option for renewal or permanent employment with the company (compensation proportionate with experience) with benefits including health insurance, 401k, Life Insurance, and ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan). Candidate may be asked to work overtime, when necessary.
