Job Title: Medical Assistant

Job Summary: We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team in Los Angeles, California. The Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in assisting healthcare providers in delivering excellent patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations, procedures, and treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Obtain and accurately record patients’ vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
• Prepare examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and availability of necessary supplies and equipment.
• Perform various clinical procedures, including but not limited to venipuncture, specimen collection, EKGs, and wound care, following established protocols.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and injections as directed by healthcare providers, adhering to medication administration guidelines and safety protocols.
• Conduct basic laboratory tests, such as urinalysis and phlebotomy, and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Assist with patient education by providing instructions on medication administration, post-treatment care, and preventive health measures.
• Schedule patient appointments, manage electronic health records (EHR), and ensure accurate documentation of patient information and medical histories.
• Perform administrative duties, including answering phone calls, managing patient inquiries, and processing medical forms and insurance claims.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and uphold patient confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant program from an accredited institution is preferred.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is highly desirable.
• Phlebotomy certification and experience are preferred.
• CPR certification is required.
• Previous experience working as a medical assistant in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Proficiency in medical terminology and basic computer skills, including experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Compassionate, empathetic, and patient-centered approach to healthcare delivery.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and move freely throughout the clinic.
• Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for performing clinical procedures and using medical instruments.
• Visual acuity and auditory ability to assess patients’ conditions and communicate effectively.

Work Schedule: Full-time MON-FRI 8-5pm
