REMSA Hiring for EMS Education Program Coordinator Job at Reno, NV Full Time

Position Summary

This position works within the REMSA education department primarily to coordinate public education programs including but not limited to ACLS, BLS, ITLS, PALS, EMR and PHTLS. Additional duties may include delivery of EMS program content within the scope of the incumbent’s certification. This position is responsible for interacting with internal and external customers such as students, education staff, other REMSA departments, community members, service groups, area hospitals and other public service agencies (fire, police, highway patrol) for public relations and educational purposes. Within this general framework, this position is accountable for the following functions:

• Collaborating with the Education Manager and senior public education staff on the development of public education programs and ensuring the course curriculum, lectures and textbooks comply with applicable National, Federal, State and Local standards or appropriately updating or revising content.
• Instruction of public education courses including content, lecturing, and testing responsibilities in those courses offered by REMSA, or EMS courses up to their current certification level.
• Maintaining course skill testing sheets, pretests, written or electronic exam results and course evaluations of public education programs.
• Interacting with affiliated training sites to ensure courses are adhering to applicable National, Federal, State and Local standards
• Verifying student eligibility and provider status for recertification.
• Working with students, staff, and employees to solve problems, resolve conflicts, and prepare people for success.
• Remediating, rescheduling, disciplining and when appropriate, terminating students.
• Assisting the Education Manager and senior public education staff with needs assessment, development, and implementation of in-house educational programs.
• Providing feedback to REMSA management to facilitate the development and continuing growth of REMSA as a regional EMS educational resource center.
• Coordinating continuing education programs, as needed for staff and medical community participants, and using different modalities to deliver in-house training or distance education.
• Provide education and coordination of courses for new public education or EMS educators.
• Maintain simulation mannequins, ensuring mannequins have adequate parts and equipment is up to date and functional.
• Maintain medical supplies and equipment used in training.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/ Experience Requirements

• Current NREMT-Paramedic certification or RN required with ability to obtain certification or licensing in the State of Nevada.
• Current American Heart Association Instructor preferred with ACLS Instructor, PALS, PHTLS, ITLS, and EMS-C Instructor; BLS and CPR Instructor desirable.
• Current instructor in NAEMT PHTLS preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Self-starter requiring little supervision, highly motivated with strong desire to become involved in EMS education.
• Certified Nevada State EMS Instructor preferred.
• Experienced public speaker & educator preferred.
• EMS educational program coordination experience or equivalent experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Audio/Visual aid development and computers preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
