Main responsibilities

Group Tax Accountant
Full Time, Permanent
Package: Competitive basic + Bonus
Working: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
Location: Primarily home based with travel to the Head Office in Winnersh (RG41) 1-2 days per month
This role is created through expansion and will involve working closely with the Group Tax Manager, European Finance Director and other members of the Finance Team. It covers the monthly, quarterly and year end reporting process as well as supporting group tax compliance. It is ideally suited for CTA qualified accountant with some industry experience.
Main responsibilities
- Implementation of controls/processes to support SoX reporting across direct and indirect taxes in the group
- Review of the monthly and quarterly corporate and deferred tax figures from local finance teams and flag potential issues or anomalies in the figures
- Review of quarterly corporate tax cash payments/refunds information from local finance teams for reporting purposes
- Review of deferred tax calculations on business combinations for reporting purposes
- Prepare procedure notes and assist the Group Tax Manager in formalising the operating controls environment to drive continuous improvement across the group
- Co-ordinating information request for the preparation of the US tax return
- Co-ordinating Country by Country Reporting across the European group
- Review of UK corporate tax returns and training of staff to ensure timely and accurate submission of tax returns to HMRC
- Support in the preparation of tax notes in annual UK statutory financial statements
- Preparation of the corporate tax quarterly instalment payments for UK group companies
- Business partnering across the organisation to identify taxation issues to bring to attention of Group Tax Manager
- As necessary, and on an ad hoc basis, assist the Group Tax Manager with other tax projects as they arise
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Required
- CTA qualified or equivalent
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Accounting Principles
- Quick learner, logical thinker, numerically minded and reliable
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience of OneSource tax software
- Attention to detail
- Experience of working to deadlines
- Team player
Preferable
- Experience of internal controls reporting and SOX
- Experience of D365 accounting system
- US GAAP knowledge
- Use of SAP BPC or similar reporting system
