Human Resources (HR) Director

Reinauer is seeking an experienced Human Resources (HR) Director to oversee HR programs across the Reinauer Group of companies. The position directly manages employment functions for Reinauer Transportation Companies. Reinauer is a diversified maritime company, operating in several business lines including bulk-liquids transportation, towing and vessel assist services, offshore support, shipbuilding and drydock services, and marine construction. The HR Director handles management and administration of hiring, benefit programs, regulatory compliance, documentation and other HR functions while supporting the growth and development of our maritime-based workforce.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the Reinauer Group’s corporate HR policies and programs, ensuring regulatory compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
• Lead the Reinauer HR Department in delivering support across employment functions, including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations and performance management.
• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that adhere to maritime regulations and industry best practices.
• Collaborate closely with department leaders to understand company needs and proactively address requirements.
• Drive efforts to enhance employee engagement through effective communication and training programs.
• Oversee the administration of employee benefit programs.
• Assist with resolution of employee relations matters, fostering a positive and consistent work environment.
• Analyze HR metrics and trends to derive insights and recommendations for ongoing enhancement.
• Stay abreast of industry trends to ensure company strategies remain innovative and impactful.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity.
• Demonstrated experience managing HR functions across multiple companies.
• Experience working in the maritime industry and knowledge of maritime employment laws and industry-specific regulations, including Jones Act.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution abilities.
• Strong history of cultivating relationships with executive leadership and departmental heads.
• Outstanding problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
• HR certifications, a plus (e.g., SHRM-SCP, PHR)

Salary Range: $110,000-145,000
