The opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join Regent High School as an Education Welfare Officer. The successful applicant for this pivotal role will work with students at Regent High School and their families to promote greater access to education through increased attendance at school and assist students in obtaining the maximum benefit from their education. To achieve this, they will work with students and families to identify the underlying reasons for the low attendance of individual students and to facilitate their return or access to regular, full-time education provision. They will establish and develop a professional service to support the school, its staff, students and parents, in raising attendance, overcoming persistent absenteeism and improving punctuality.
The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical, ICT and administrative skills in order to facilitate the improvement of overall school attendance. Additionally, the postholder will be expected to manage and process attendance data efficiently, in order to inform vital reporting. A mature approach and a commitment to working with young people are required as well as the ability to work calmly under pressure.
