Accounting & Finance Lead

-Contract Role, Remote

RedStream Technology is recruiting for a versatile, well-rounded accounting and finance professional to fill a six-month contract role as the Accounting & Finance Lead for a subsidiary of a global fintech company.

Accounting Responsibilities

• General ledger management

• Assist management in planning, directing and coordinating all operational accounting functions to support the monthly close process

• Prepare monthly standard journal entries and meet month-end close requirements, including allocations, adjusting entries, etc.

• Work closely with human resources to process weekly payroll

• Supervise all accounting functions up to and including preparation of monthly financial statements for senior management in a timely fashion, and assist with ad-hoc reporting and analysis

• Work with external auditors and provide needed information for the annual audit. Reconcile accounts and prepare audit work papers

• Identify and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and internal control of firm’s processes

• Enforce proper accounting methods, internal controls, policies and principles

Budgeting Responsibilities

• Assist management in preparation of the annual operating budget in cooperation with department heads

• Prepare and distribute monthly department budget versus actual reports to various departments

Filings / Reports

• Complies with all State and Federal filing requirements on behalf of the organization

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent

• Experience in PeopleSoft is a plus

• Ability to work in a fast-paced high-volume environment

• Demonstrated ability to perform all accounting functions in a hands-on manner in the subsidiary of a major fintech company

• Strong GAAP accounting experience (general ledger, consolidations, reconciliations, compliance, etc.)

• Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, and evaluationAcc

Skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

• Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills, as well as ability to manage priorities and workflow

• Ability to work independently and be a self-starter with sensible judgment

• Proficient in the planning, organization, and implementation of programs and procedures

• 7-10 years related experience

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $60.00 – $80.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
