Redivis is building a platform for academic organizations to easily distribute rich datasets and tools for scientists to undertake groundbreaking research. Our goal is to reduce complexity in data science and make it accessible to everyone.

Role

You’ll play a central role in building the frontend infrastructure and interfaces for Redivis’s platform, while crafting a product that brings data to a global audience.

You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership over key technology decisions and develop and implement best practices for frontend development.

As a frontend developer at Redivis you will:

• Architect and build new features from mockups to meet user and customer needs
• Interface closely with the design and product to bring specifications and visual mock-ups to realization
• Explore new tools, platforms and systems that will help our technology grow and scale
• Refine existing work processes and help define new best practices for the engineering team
• Become an early member of a small and fast-moving team that’s excited to democratize data

Qualifications

• You’re an exceptional JavaScript developer, with at least 2 years of web development experience

• You’ve worked in React and are familiar with its ecosystem
• You have experience writing large, maintainable front-end codebases
• You have a comprehensive knowledge of styling, and appreciation of the importance of writing good CSS
• You’re attentive to visual design and can build features from mockups that look great

• You prioritize clear and open communication and are comfortable working very closely with cross-functional teams on executing a complex project

Bonus skills
If you don’t have any of these, that’s 100% ok! We’ll be excited for you to learn these skills on the job, and in turn are eager to learn from your past experiences.

• You have some experience architecting, building, and documenting a component library (e.g., Storybook)

• You’ve worked with Node.js backend systems
• You can write great documentation and tests, and have familiarity with testing systems
• Experience working with a design team and using Figma, Sketch, or equivalent

Location

We’ve been a fully remote company since March 2020, and are open to candidates based anywhere in the United States with appropriate work authorization. Our core meetings are generally in the Pacific time zone, but we schedule them to make timing doable for those further east or west.

Like many companies, we are actively having conversations about the future of the workplace, and are excited for you to join us in that conversation. We’re supportive of temporary stays (1-2 months) in further timezones, and are keen to occasionally gather in person for an “offsite”, where we can hang out in person and further develop and share our goals for the company.

Compensation and benefits

Salary: We have transparent, formula-based salaries across Redivis. We’re interested in candidates for intermediate, advanced, and senior frontend engineering positions, which have a base salary between 128k and 170k. Profit sharing & equity: Redivis’ profit sharing distributes a percentage of its profit among employees every six months. And, as an early employee, you’ll get a notable equity stake in the company as well.
