The IT Systems Support Engineer Role:

We are looking for our first Bristol based IT Systems Administrator to set the standard for end user support. You’ll be working from our rapidly expanding UK Head Quarters, initially from offices located near Temple Meads but in early 2022 supporting a move to our flagship HQ at The Distillery.

You’ll thrive being hands-on in a varied, stand-alone support role, but you’ll also enjoy being part of a crack internal IT team. With supportive daily stand ups, you’ll be able to rely on your colleagues in Farnborough and Denver, USA for extra training and support when tackling challenges or projects.

This is no ordinary end user support role. You will be a “people first” enabler of IT.

You’ll get a buzz from providing 5*, personality driven, patient and people focused IT support from the Executive Suite to the Sales floor.
You will also be providing internal support to your technical colleagues growing and supporting one of the most innovative cloud distribution platforms in Europe – so you’ll enjoy being on your game when tech-to-tech!

Tech Day to Day in this role includes:

+ Ensuring security through access controls, backups, and firewalls
+ Upgrading systems with new releases and models
+ Developing expertise to train staff on new technologies
+ Building and maintaining internal tools as well as evaluating new tools with documentation, checklists, guides, etc.
+ Installing and configuring software and hardware
+ Troubleshooting issues and outages
+ Managing network devices and technology tools
+ Setting up accounts and workstations

We’re looking for someone who is “service happy” with great mental processes and a healthy discipline around documentation and checklists so other people can follow your thinking. You’ll carry the same DNA as the rest of our US & UK IT team with an ability to learn fast.

You’ll be ideal for us if you:

+ 2-3 years autonomous end user support experience
+ Communicate easily with technical & non-technical people – online or in-person
+ Enjoy helping humans and have an authentic service centric mindset
+ Already tinker in your home-lab where you love to build, learn and study
+ Are resourceful, with problem-solving aptitude and a can-do attitude
+ Have a thorough understanding of Azure AD, O365 and Exchange Online Administration Basics
+ Ability to administer Anti-SPAM systems, Anti-Phishing, and Endpoint Protection systems
+ Understanding of ITSM Framework
+ Have experienced System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role
+ Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN), patch management, Cloud Software, Imaging, Windows 10, Linux, DNS, O365 and other tools
+ Can create automation scripts with PowerShell and other scripting tools
+ B.S./B.A. degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience
+ Professional certifications in Microsoft Cloud, Cisco, or other related credentials preferred
