Hamilton Island is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor for our Stores and Maintenance Warehouse. Supervising the receiving and dispatch of equipment and stores for the island, your role will be key in the successful operation of our world class island resort.

Your Role

Responsible for the coordination, supervision and effective implementation of best practices for all operations at the Resort warehouse. Ensure that safety and efficiencies are built on to continue improvement in the servicing of Hamilton Island and associated Businesses.

You Will Also

• Responsible for coordinating operations to effectively and efficiently receive, sort, dispatch or store daily consignments ensuring compliance with relevant legislation regarding Cold Food Chain Handling.
• Liaise with management, suppliers, and customers with respect to all operations.
• Supervise and provide direction and guidance to employees, assist with on-the-job training and induction of staff.
• Supervise the receipt and delivery of goods and ensure that all necessary paperwork relating to the receipt of goods is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Implement quality control techniques and procedures.
• Assist Inventory Controller with monthly cyclical Warehouse stock takes and recording of outgoing goods.
• Investigate various avenues for the implementation of benchmarking procedures throughout the operations.
• Ensure Warehouse and Barge Terminal areas, vehicles and forklifts are always maintained and kept tidy and presentable.
• Assist in the Coordination and transportation of freight.
• Team effectiveness – act as a positive influence and work as part of a team
• Work, Health & Safety (WHS) – follow all HIE WHS policies & procedures and assist in ensuring they are reviewed and updated.
• Assist with Barging operations.
• Undertake any other tasks as directed by your manager

About You

• Tertiary qualifications in a related field (Desirable)
• Previous Transport and Logistics experience (Essential)
• Driver’s License (MR or higher is desirable)
• Forklift License (Essential)
