ABOUT THE ROLE:

ing to an entrepreneurial and highly influential Finance Manager, this Financial Accountant will support the delivery of major finance objectives as the organisation aims to continue its aggressive growth journey. Working closely with an impressive leadership team, you will be instrumental in working cross functionally with the business. This role will be critical in ensuring the company employs robust operational, budgeting, forecasting and ing processes and delivers accurate and comprehensive s and analysis to internal and external stakeholders.

This is a critical role to assist in driving the business through its aggressive hyper-growth ‘expansion phase’ whilst implementing best practice processes and procedures throughout the finance function. You will act as the “confidant” and “right hand person” to the Finance Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

ing to the Finance Manager and working in partnership with the senior finance leadership team, your key responsibilities as the Financial Accountant will include:

• Ownership and delivery of month end closure procedures to ensure deadlines are met;
• Financial ing in accordance with Statutory requirements;
• Support the Finance Manager with the management of the year end audit;
• Establishment of accounting principles, practices, policies and procedures;
• Ensure accountable for all direct and indirect tax lodgements, compliance and ing including workers compensation lodgements and payroll tax.
• Work with cross functional leaders for continuous improvements and innovation leveraging technologies and applications;
• Support preparation of budgets, forecasts, variance analysis and board ing;
• Business partner sales, operations and the leadership team to identify opportunities to increase profitability, competitor advantage, shareholder value and business growth;
• Act as a critical finance lead to the leadership team who will seek your support and guidance on preparing key insights and analysis for key business decision making;
• Work closely with business leaders to support and develop financial models to assist in evaluating new business concepts, turning insights into operational measurements;
• Provide financial advice and support to key business leaders to effectively and efficiently manage business operations and performance.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

You have at least 2-5 years’ experience in a Financial Accountant. You may also be a Big 4/Mid-Tier first or second mover looking for your first step into a true commercial position. You are either already CA/CPA qualified or working towards completion. You possess month end experience and feel comfortable managing P&Ls. You have a deep desire to progress your career into a more commercial and analytical path. In addition, you will have:

• Exposure to a large ERP system such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, NetSuite preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced excel skills.
• Experience using Power BI will be highly considered.
• Exposure to a product-based industry ideally with FMCG, Supply Chain or Manufacturing preferred although not essential.
• Ability to understand the financial accounting process and how data flows in the system.
• Highly developed written & verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively manage a wide range of key stakeholders.
• A positive attitude with the hunger to achieve great results.
• Resilience and the ability to bounce back under pressure.
• A team focus with the ability to handle tasks in a timely manner with the quality expected in a large business environment.
