It is characterized by its high energy state and known as the “fourth state of matter.” When properly harnessed and directed properly, plasma can be used in industrial applications more efficiently than conventional methods.

Role Overview

ReCarbon, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated and productive Sr. Process Development Engineer who will join our project engineering team to lead the commercialization of our plasma reforming plant.

Suitable candidates will be self-starters, seeking to learn at a high pace, and able to balance competing priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrated success in building and commissioning process plants, such as hydrogen, syngas, ammonia, refinery, petrochemical, LNG, chemicals, etc
• Lead the process development and project engineering work to make ReCarbon’s pilot and early commercial operations safe, robust, and successful
• Generate Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Pipe& Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) for gas processing equipment.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to successfully deploy and operate a novel plasma reforming process at the pilot and commercial stages
• Select, direct, and oversee 3rd party engineering groups, contractors, and project partners to meet project goals and deadlines
• Provide technical support to assist in developing and maintaining a Process Safety Management (PSM) program for decarbonization facilities

Skills and Qualifications

• BS+ degree in chemical engineering or related field
• 10+ years of experience in process/project engineering roles in an applicable chemical industry
• Extensive relevant engineering experience in process scale up and commercialization of new chemical technologies
• Perficient in process hazard analyses (PHA, HAZOP, LOPA)
• Ability to generate Heat and Mass Balance using HYSYS simulations
• Experience with chemical & process modeling, and advanced computation software
• Experience with AutoCAD, Petro-SIM, HYSYS
• Experience with biogas and/or CO2 utilization processes is preferred
• Team player: Be able to share knowledge, leading the team, and support other groups
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

Location: Fremont, CA

Travel requirement: Up to 30%, domestic and international
