Responsibilities

· Develops control system(s) including functional specifications in conjunction with Product Management and Marketing.

Perform engineering tasks including circuit design and analysis, component selection and sizing, layout, schematic and BOM generation, pneumatic diagrams, sourcing material, writing and maintaining manuals in compliance with Company standards and practices.
Designs and implements safety circuits to meet applicable standards. Becomes involved in machine/process risk assessments evaluation and perform changes as required by PSHSR.
Develops software and configuration using company’s software design practices. This includes but it is not limited to PLC and PC controllers, drives, robots, networking, HMI, sensors, vision, logging, printing, scanning, interfaces etc.
Experience with programming Omron, Allen Bradley, Siemens, BnR PLC’s and HMI’s
Experience with robot programming ABB, Fanuc, Motoman,
Develops test plans to validate equipment design. Written test plans are required for any activity involving new development or prototyping.
Installs code and tests machines at the company’s production facility prior to shipment (safety, performance, alarms and diagnostic, calibration and conditioning, sequencing, logging, communication etc.).
Performs machine quality inspections prior to machine shipments as required.
Generates documentation as needed to support quality compliance programs.
Trains Production and Company’s Field Service staff in all aspects of the machine; transfer knowledge/release process.
