About us

RFG is a small full-service accounting firm based just outside Chicago, IL, set up to providing accounting, CFO, and tax preparation services to small to large businesses and non-profits seeking to increase capacity and streamline their daily fiscal operations to produce efficient results on a timely manner. Role is a supportive role and is remote with light travel when necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities
Working with multiple clients to the core responsibilities are to ensure that the day-to-day fiscal transactions from operations are executed correctly, comprehensively, and timely manner weekly, monthly, and annually as required to be compliance. The accountant will work closely with the assigned client projects and scheduled routine data processing.

• Record invoices and payments in QuickBooks for clients, including obtaining support documentation, archiving files, submitting payment requests. Enter expenses and payments to vendors and employees. Set up and pay invoices via check, e-check, online, for services or daily on demand purchases for maintenance.
• Generating daily bank transaction reports thru bank portal to record customer payments, or expense payments from vendors into QuickBooks desktop for reconciling bank accounts.
• Record and archive deposits, online revenue payments and apply payments to outstanding invoices. Reconcile bank reconciliations against GL Monthly
• Submit monthly expense reports online to awarded grants based on P&L and payroll and other program activities.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of an Associates in Accounting or 5 years equivalent experience required.
• A minimum of 3 years of QuickBooks and bookkeeping
• Strong working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, Google sheets and Smartsheet
• Significant problem solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Maintains the confidentiality of information about business, and personnel issues, and other program operations as appropriate.
• Demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness in work activities.

Pay: $25-$30 per hour (based on experience)
Physical setting: Remote (light travel when necessary)
Schedule: Flexible schedule (10hrs week) project based
