Raytheon BBN Technologies, located in Cambridge, MA, is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join our Physical Sciences and Systems group. Our world-class team works with a broad range of government agencies to solve problems that are both technically challenging and cutting-edge. Applicants must have educational or practical experience with C or C++ and Linux. Educational or practical experience with embedded software generation and testing, research, MATLAB, and real time software is a plus!

Our work makes a real impact to operational systems. You will solve challenging problems including:

• Developing sophisticated detection and classification algorithms against state-of-the-art threats;
• Designing and implementing complex software to optimize sensor system performance;
• Supporting real time evaluation of your designs in realistic mission scenarios; and
• Optimizing algorithm design for the highest performance.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or related disciplines.
• The ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. A willingness to apply and US citizenship are required. An active security clearance is highly desired.
• Educational or practical experience with C or C++. Experience with using Linux as a development environment, including the use of autotools, Make, and gcc/gdb.

Additional Skills that would be AWESOME:

• Knowledge of hardware and software and experience developing and implementing physics-based models in MATLAB/Simulink
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, bash, etc.)
• Experience with Google FlatBuffers, C++ 11/14/17
• Experience with git, Valgrind, and tools for profiling memory use
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment (sensors, actuators, analyzers, data acquisition, real-time platforms)
• Educational or practical experience with developing real time software
• Demonstrated ability to work in teams
• Excellent written and verbal communications
• An active security clearance
