Raymour and Flanigan Hiring for Director of Software Development Job at Liverpool, NY Full Time

At the forefront of our software development modernization efforts the Director of Software Development is responsible for the technical solution, design, development and quality assurance efforts of all Raymour and Flanigan’s software development projects. This role is not only focused on our modernization efforts from a technology and process standpoint but is also responsible for developing the team to build a world-class Software Development discipline. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach and be comfortable working in a high demand, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment.
Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, management and technical vision to entire Software Development team that consists of Technical Program Managers, Software Development Managers, QA Manager, Software Developers and Quality Assurance Analysts
• Builds technical roadmaps of the organization’s software solutions that include technology, platform, frameworks, security upgrades/updates.
• Works with Sr. Director of Enterprise Applications, Sr. Manager of Product Management and Sr. Manager of PMO to make sure technical debt and modernization efforts are presented and prioritized with the senior business leaders
• Defines the software development and quality assurance go-forward strategy that includes supported programming languages, tools, processes, etc.
• Defines and monitors key performance indicators and metrics to measure the success of the team, software performance and health, etc.
• Develops work standards and processes to reduce implementation time and improve quality
• Instills a culture of continuous improvement and learning and development
• Leads the implementation of our DevOps and CI/CD strategy
• Defines and implements organization’s technical documentation strategy of software solutions
• Builds and manages relationships with 3rd party vendors for outsourced development resources
• Work with teams on removing technical obstacles
• Reports on the progress of our modernization efforts and team development
• Manages Azure DevOps implementation
• Makes presentations to senior leaders within the organization
• Work and communicates with cross functional teams
• Hold regular 1:1s with the team
• Provides direct professional development
• Manage Software Development and Quality Assurance budgets

Minimum Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience working directly within software development teams
• 5+ years of experience managing software developers and quality assurance analysts
• 5+ years of experience leveraging Azure, Azure DevOps, C#, AWS, Xunit, MOQ, and Selenium
• Proven success building, motivating and retaining high performance software development teams
• Experience working within Agile methodologies and principles
• Excellent communication skills
