Ravensbourne Hiring for Sessional Lecturers, Further Education (Animation) Job at London, England Full Time

Salary: £33.93 – £39.81 ph + holiday pay, (hourly sessional rate)

We are based at Greenwich Peninsula in an iconic building next to The O2. Our aim is to become a portal for talent across London driving growth in the knowledge economy and creative industries.

We are looking for sessional tutors to potentially work across our FE department:

• Foundation Diploma

• Access to Higher Education in Design Diploma

• BA Year Zero in Animation & Games Development

Pathways and subject specialisms include:

• 2D & 3D Animation

• Games Development.

Familiarity with relevant software such as Adobe After Effects, Maya, Blender is required, alongside a good understanding of how to deliver effective creative storytelling and character design.

This is a general call out for creative tutors to register their interest in a sessional staff position through the submission of a CV. Sessional staff are usually engaged in contracts to teach for 5 hours a day, as and when required. Teaching dates will commence for the academic year 2021-22 starting in September.

FE learning and teaching is planned to be delivered 100% in building at our North Greenwich campus. Though knowledge of online teaching is advantageous.

The ideal candidate will have current inclusive pedagogy knowledge and be unphased by delivering online taught sessions. Preferably you will have some coaching skill and an aptitude to support wellbeing, alongside a supportive empathetic approach to learning to naturally foster community and inclusion. Your CV will reflect your industry experience and you will support and contribute to the development of our industry relationships where possible. You will be at the centre of emerging digital and technological practices. Alongside all of this you will have a passion for research and contextualising projects and practice with innovative diverse practitioners.

You will hold a relevant honours degree and ideally a PGCE, or be willing to work towards achieving one.

We are a close-knit team in FE who thoroughly believe in the creative and explorative fundamentals a year in FE can bring to our students. We want to empower our students to be confident, self-sufficient learners and researchers, equipping them thoroughly for creative progression.
