The Database Administrator role provides an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to develop their skills and support Council’s data journey to present a single view of our customers, power our operations and to drive better decision making through the use of data.
Council’s technology systems are based on a hybrid cloud/datacentre approach, with a combination of MS SQL server database servers on premise and a planned transition to the cloud. Council has recently commenced build of a data warehouse using Azure Synapse, populated through Datafactory ETL tools and seeks a database administrator to assist the organisation to manage the transition as well as supporting current operations.
Council’s core systems include the TechnologyOne Financials product, Infor Pathway property, rating and licensing product, Microfocus Content Manager (TRIM) for unstructured data, and a number of bespoke departmental systems to manage diverse activities across the organisation including waste management, leisure centre, childcare and libraries. Council has adopted the Microsoft platform to power remote working and collaboration systems.
The successful candidate will be embedded in Council’s Enterprise Content Management section, and will help on the transformation of unstructured data to structured data by utilising online forms available in the existing products; will assist the Data Architect on the build out of the data warehouse; and will assist the business to make decisions through the use of effective reports and dashboards. As such, the ideal candidate will have a good understanding of both applications and the databases behind them, ETL and integration approaches, dashboarding and reporting tools based on a Microsoft environment.
In addition to rewarding work, we offer great employee benefits including competitive salaries, flexible working hours, participation in a 9-day fortnight, additional leave entitlements, health and wellbeing days, professional development opportunities, option to novate lease a private vehicle and much more.
