Randstad Hiring for Development Coordinator – Retail Job at Melbourne Full Time

The Opportunity

Randstad are excited to be partnering with a Global Retail Store for an exciting role at the forefront of a popular growing brand within Australia through store expansion of a unisex clothing retailer with over 2000 stores worldwide, 200 of which are located in Australia.

The primary purpose for the successful candidate will be supporting the identification and delivery of development projects to expand and provide the best representation of the brand for their Australian customers. This role is based in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD and will require some travel.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Preparing the proposals and leases on behalf of the Store Development Director
• Working closely with internal and external legal advisors to monitor all lease documentation
• Meeting with and following up landlords for all tenancy plans
• Ensuring site plans meet company guidelines
• Maintenance of all store development files for each location
• Creating new store opening documents
• Preparation of Australian development strategy
• Preparation of feasibility studies for board approval
• Assist Project Manager with: coordination of plans, program planning, meeting with architects, finalising building contracts, procurement of building products, coordination of key vendors, supervision of on-site builders
• Work closely with the Australia Store Operations team and other internal departments to ensure a smooth opening of each site.

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business, property, finance, law, construction or related field
• Has previous experience working in project coordination, store development, facilities or leasing environment
• Has the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders
• Has a proven track record of achieving in a company with accelerated growth within a high performance company
• Has had exposure to legal matters in relation to leases
• Ability to work collaborative with other functions to achieve goals
• Strong financial reporting background and understanding of lease accounting
• Understanding of the retail environment and the ability to think creatively about how to best deliver the future of the brand to their customers
