Randstad CPE Looking for Site Engineer at Birmingham, West Midlands Full Time

Are you a Site Engineer looking for long term freelance work on a large civils scheme in the Birmingham area?

My client, a leading civils contactor, is looking to recruit a Site Engineer with CFA Piling experience to join a large scheme working on remote sites around the Birmingham area.

Responsibilities:

• Setting Out
• Quality Assurance
• Proficient in CAD
• Fully conversant with the use of robotic total station instruments
• Have some experience of AutoCAD
• Fundamental understanding of bill of quantities
• Liaising with plant yard over costs and damages
• Ensure concrete service is secured and trials carried out where required
• Close off quality plans
• Ensure that rig instrumentation is working correctly and calibrated
• Keep up to date with all correspondence ensuring that we are working from the most recent drawings/design
• Produce Pile schedules from information taken from engineer drawings
• Check that ground conditions are as assumed in the design calculations, if in any doubt refer back to design department
• Ensure that any rig instrumentation is working correctly and calibrated, printouts checked and filed
• Update weekly cost sheet and report under performance immediately

Skills and Exprience:

• Good understanding of CFA, LDA, Secant and support fluid piling techniques
• Relevent degree or equivalent in Engineering
• Previous experience as a Site engineer on Piling project
• Previous experience in a Highways / Infrastructure environment
• Commercial knowledge awareness
• Computer literate
• Basic understanding of geotechnics and pile design
• Good communication skills
