The Finance Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Finance Manager supervises finance assistants and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, treasury and cash management, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. The Finance Manager will have contact with President/CFO which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.
Essential Functions:
§ Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
§ Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and tax preparations for CPA firm.
§ Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information including company asset register maintenance and company credit card review.
§ Review and complete daily banking requirements, and statement reconciliation monthly.
§ Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions.
§ Ensure monthly and quarterly bank compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
§ Provides financial reports, analysis and interpretation of financial information for President’s monthly report.
§ Develops and supports annual budgets and forecasting activities.
§ Collaborates with the other department managers to support overall department financial/cost targets.
§ Advises staff/President-CFO regarding the handling of non-routine cost reporting transactions.
§ Responds to inquiries regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.
§ Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
§ Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
§ Supervises the timely coordination and compliance of all state tax registration, assessment, collection, remittance and reporting.
§ Accurate reconciliation of bi-weekly payroll processing and journal entries into MRP system.
§ Support President/CFO with special projects as required.
§ Predictable and reliable attendance.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration required or combination of job experience (5 years) working in accounting with at least an Associate Degree.
Language Skills: Ability to read, write and speak English.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Computer Skills: Expert knowledge of MS Excel and Word; general understanding of enterprise software (ERP/MRP systems).
