Ramsay Clinic Northside are seeking a full time Study Coordinator who will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of research studies within the Neurostimulation/Interventional Psychiatry team at Northside, led by Prof Colleen Loo and Dr Donel Martin.

ing to the hospital Director of Clinical Services, the successful applicant will assist with the ongoing management of research and clinical trials in the hospital. Primarily, you will assist with coordinating the RAFT ECT Study, a multisite clinical trial investigating a new form of Right Unilateral ECT for treatment resistant depression. You will also provide research support to other studies in the hospital; these include but are not limited to the TRENA study (comparing the efficacy of TMS and TDCS in anorexia nervosa patients) as well as medical record analysis.

As the Research Unit at Ramsay Clinic Northside works in alliance with UNSW and Blackdog, the role requires strong collaborative relationships with off-site staff including researchers, study coordinators and study psychiatrists. Similarly important, the Study Coordinator will create and maintain strong working relationships with hospital staff to ensure studies are smoothly integrated within the existing clinical landscape.

The Study Coordinator will join a dynamic environment, with the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a team. They will gain experience administering and scoring a diverse set of psychology assessment tools, including the HAM-D, the AMI, MoCA, and Quality of Life Measures, and a suite of cognitive assessments. This role is an excellent opportunity to work within an expanding Research Unit and alongside world-class researchers.

Key responsibilities include:

• The implementation of clinical trial and research protocols at Ramsay Clinic Northside, including the recruitment of patients, coordinating patient visits and data collection in accordance with clinical trials protocols and following up patients as needed
• Coordinating the collection of patient ed outcome measures within the hospital
• Responding to doctors and patients regarding study enquiries
• Facilitate recruitment by maintaining strong rapport with clinical staff and creating a positive study experience
• Administering screening/baseline evaluations, cognitive tests and mood tests as needed
• Data collection/management through REDcap and excel
• Point of contact between research team, clinical service and the centralised off-site study Coordinating Team (including on legal and financial issues)
• Scheduling study assessments, participant/staff timetables
• Maintaining Investigator Site File, Participant Research Files, and Site-Specific Assessments (SSA), and local Clinical Trial Management System files
• Preparing SSA amendment’s
• ing AEs/SAEs/deviations as per protocol and local governance requirements
• Responsible for site screening logs, staff training/delegation logs, local ethics/governance approvals

Essential Criteria

• A university degree in Psychology (Honours) or other related discipline.
• High-level time management and organisational skills with a proven ability to deal with multiple tasks, establish priorities and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills with highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds
• Proven experience in data management
• Demonstrated interest and capacity to support the conduct and preparation of research as evidenced by involvement and assistance in other research projects, peer reviewed publications, and/or experience of data entry/collection and participant interviews
• Ability to walk both independently and constructively in a team environment
• Experience assessing psychiatric symptoms and using structured clinical Interviews
• Familiarity and experience with clinical trial processes and requirements (e.g., ICH GCP), or willingness to learn
• knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training

Desirable

• Class 1 Honours degree in Psychology
• Substantial working experience in research studies, including experience in the conduct and coordination of clinical trials.
• Understanding of ethics and governance in clinical research
• Previous experience working with patients with mental health conditions
