Rainbow Child Development Center Hiring for Toddler Lead teachers (2s) at Queens, NY Full Time

Our centers in Queens are looking to hire lead teachers for our 2 year old classrooms. The position will start immediately.

Please specify in your cover letter your relevant experience and your salary requirement. We are looking for someone that’s caring, hands on and with motivation to learn. Candidates with similar experience preferred.

Requirements and Education:

-Associate degree in early childhood or childhood education; 90 credits or more in completing a Bachelor in Early Childhood or related field; or Bachelor degree in childhood or early childhood

– Knowledge of early childhood curriculum and have experience working toddlers or 2-3 year olds

– The ability to work well in a team setting and work respectfully and cooperatively with a Teacher Assistant.

Responsibilities and Duties:

The goal of teachers at Rainbow CDC is to provide a warm, nurturing, safe, and loving environment where self-concepts are enhanced, independence encouraged, and individuality respected. To this end the specific responsibilities included, but are not limited to the following:

1) Protects the safety of all children in the center.

2) Directly supervises children at all times.

3) Uses positive phrasing with children.

4) Communicates frequently with children throughout the day, naming objects, actions, using who, what, when, where. and why, and open ended questions.

5) Exhibits behavior management consistent with Rainbow CDC philosophy, including reflecting children’s feelings, approaching children to speak with them, directing comments toward children’s behavior, not at the children themselves, etc.

6) Co-plays/interacts with children during play activities both indoors and on the playground.

7) Treats each child with dignity and respect, recognizing the cultural and socio-economic diversity of the population.

8) Submits weekly curriculum plans based on Creative Curriculum to educational director.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,000.00 – $45,000.00 per year

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
