Sr. Quality Engineer

Our client, a global leader in their industry designing and manufacturing highly engineered products, is searching for a Sr. Quality Engineer. This position establishes and maintains the quality program for the company. This is done in accordance with applicable codes and standards. They will plan, train, organize and manage all activities related to certifications, audits, and code compliance/TRS engineering.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Establish and maintain the quality program for all products and in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• Provide technical support in coordinating data collection and calibration of inspection, also measuring and testing equipment to validate that products meet standards required by regulating authorities.
• Maintain ISO 9001 Certification and function as the Management Representative.
• Coordinate and maintain all product certifications. Approve all UV-1 certifications.
• Coordinate audits of the quality program and all outside 3rdparty certifications. Conduct supplier quality assessments.
• Support the analysis of root cause of nonconformities and the generation of corrective actions; and ensure the proper allocation of cost for quality products according to reason for product failure.
• Generate and maintain quality procedures, records, and documents; prepare required s.
• Interface with manufacturing to analyze the production process and ensure that procedures are properly followed and maintained.
• Communicate results at Management Review meetings.
• Coordinate 3rd party inspections, nondestructive examinations, and metallurgical testing.
• Maintain all company master logs to stay current and relevant per company QSM, policies, and procedures.
• Serve as Welding Coordinator, ensuring code-compliance to applicable standards and maintenance of welding log and other required documentation.
• Flexibility to support production quality, continuous improvement, Lean, and supplier/manufacturing engineering-related tasks on an as-needed basis as dictated by Engineering Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred.
• Five years of experience in quality / engineering / manufacturing.

Other Qualifications:

• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Certifications:

• ASQ or Quality Auditor certification preferred.
• Previous ISO 9001 auditor certification or ASQ certifications (CQA or CQE) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• TRS (Technical Regulations & Standards)
• Knowledge of ASME BPVC Section IX (Welding, Brazing, and Fusing Qualifications) required.
• Knowledge of ASME BPVC Section VIII (Rules for Construction of Pressure Vessels) and Section XIII (Rules for Overpressure Protection) preferred.
• Knowledge of Marine Certifications within IACS (International Association of Classification Societies) preferred.
• Knowledge of the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU and the Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 preferred.
• Engineering and Technology
• Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
• Design – Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
